Monica Lambden - Celebration of Life
At 11:30am on Saturday 16th February on the Island friends of Monica are invited to celebrate her life.
Following a short service of dedication a memorial tree will be planted.
Buffet lunch and refreshments will be available and we would be delighted if you could join us.
Monica Lambden
Sadly we have to report the passing of another Islander.
On Wednesday, 26th December, Monica Lambden lost her battle with the cancer that she fought so hard against over the last months of her life.
Monica was one of the longest serving members of the Island but if you joined The Island after the mid 90's, you did not really know Monica, The Bowler.
Monica had more Club Points towards her County Badge than most but that one County Point required eluded her, even though she had reached Quarter-Final stages in county competitions on several occasions.
Her career was cut short when, several years after an operation for breast cancer, she suffered severe water retention in her right (and bowling) arm. She rarely complained about the disability and no amount of treatment did any lasting good.
Monica continued to support the Club and became the Island ladies TVLL mascot, as the team always did better when she was there.
Our sympathies are with John and his family.
